Event Details

Age 8 and above
In this workshop, participants will learn about the exquisite art of papercutting and how to use a hobby knife or scissors to create their own cut-paper pieces. Elizabeth provides a brief history of this ancient artform as well as original templates and guidance for creating new designs. No experience necessary.   This program involves the use of sharp cutting tools.  Participants need to understand the risks associated with participating in the program and agree to assume the risk of participating.  All participants must fill out a waiver prior to attending the program; waivers are available on the event listing page and will also be available at check-in for the program.

About the Artist
Artist Elizabeth Goss is the author and illustrator for several books for children, including My Way West (2021).  She has been a professional paper cutter for over ten years, and her work has appeared in books, galleries, magazines and advertisements.   Her workshops welcome students into the world of papercutting and are a great way to explore negative space, composition, shape, and color.

Limited space is available; pre-registration is required.  This program is made possible through funding from the Coos County Cultural Coalition.
