In this workshop, children's illustrator, author, and paper cutter, Elizabeth Goss will provide a brief history of the ancient art of papercutting and discusses some of the many tools used to create paper art around the world. Participants ages 13+ are invited to try creating papercuts using a hobby knife while younger participants will explore cutting with scissors. No experience necessary.  All participants must fill out a waiver prior to participating (see link on event or fill out day of event).

About the Artist
Artist Elizabeth Goss is the author and illustrator for several books for children, including My Way West (2021).  She has been a professional paper cutter for over ten years, and her work has appeared in books, galleries, magazines and advertisements.   Her workshops welcome students into the world of papercutting and are a great way to explore negative space, composition, shape, and color.

Limited space is available; pre-registration is required.  This program is made possible through funding from the Coos County Cultural Coalition.
