A Universe of Stories Summer Program
June 13-August 17
Pick up an activity log from the library to track your reading time and other summer adventures. Bring the activity log back to the library to claim some fantastic prizes and be entered into drawings for even MORE fanstic prizes-- including Diary of a Wimpy Kid, Dog Man, and Dork Diaries collections.
Mother Goose on the Loose (MGOL): Wednesdays and Thursdays 9:30-10:00
MGOL is a program for infants and toddlers and their parents or caregivers. MGOL incorporates research-based theories of learning, music, puppets, picture books, nursery rhymes, play, and language. MGOL helps develop and strengthen early literacy skills in a fun and nurturing environment. For more Early Literacy information and resources, please visit our Early Literacy page.

Preschool Storytime: Wednesdays 10:30-11:30
Preschool Storytime focuses on building social and school-readiness skills in a fun environment. We use stories, songs, rhymes and puppets to play and learn together. This half hour program is followed by half an hour of socializing.
BookBox for Kids
BookBox is a fun and easy way to try new books! Library staff picks a book we think you'll love, based on your reading profile, and package it up with some other fun stuff (that you can keep!) in a monthly subscription box. (For the adult reading profile, click here.) Just print off the form, fill it out, and drop it off at the library. Your first BookBox will be ready for you the first week of next month.
Note for parents: Please feel free to fill out a profile for your pre-reader. We love selecting books for everyone-- no age limits applied!
Dolly Parton Imagination Library
Interested in having free books mailed to your child every month? Register for the Dolly Parton Imagination Library! To register through Coos Bay Public Library, children must be under the age of five and have an address in Coos Bay or Allegany.visit their website.

Coos County Young Writers
Join a community of enthusiastic young writers! Open to students age 11-18, CCYW offers a fun and supportive atmosphere in which to share and improve your craft. Do you write poetry? Short stories? Fanfiction? Novels? Graphic novels? Are you a journalist? Sreenwriter? Essayist? Have you yet to write you first piece? You are welcome! Our monthly meetings (beginning in September) include snacks, volunteer readers (peer and adult), and short presentations on style and elements of story. Feel free to bring what you are currently working on, or begin the meeting with a blank page. The meetings are flexible enough to allow you to seek out the kind of interaction you are looking for. Don't miss our kickoff workshop with William Ritter!
CBPL's Clubs are open to all school-aged children (unless age restrictions are noted).
LEGO Club: 1st Tuesdays & 3rd Fridays 3:30-4:30
We provide the LEGOs; just bring your imagination! Your creation will be displayed in the library until the next LEGO Club.
Pokémon Club: 4th Wednesdays 3:30-4:30
Bring your cards to trade and battle. Don't have cards? Borrow a library deck! Other Pokémon related activities are also available.
No Pokemon Club over the summer! We will resume September 25, 2019.
Tween Book Club: 3rd Thursdays 3:45-4:45
Friends, food, books, and fun! Tween Book Club is for ages 10-13. Read the book, then come to book club ready to discuss and snack. You don't have to read the book in order to come! We like talking about other books we are reading as well.
No Tween Book Club over the summer! We will resume September 20, 2019.
