2024 Summer Reading Program
Readers of any age are invited to participate in the Coos Bay Public Library’s summer reading challenge. Beginning Monday, June 17 and continuing through August 17, participants can register for the annual program at the library or online.
How it works:
- Participate online or with a paper bingo sheet.
- Young people under 18 will receive a free book for entering
- Adults will receive a special bookmark prize. For each row of five books read, readers will earn an entry into the year’s grand prize drawing.
- Grand prize winners will get their choice of a $100 gift card to a local Coos Bay restaurant or $100 worth of LEGO™; the library will select a child, teen, and adult winner.
- Other prizes are available for the first and fifth bingo rows completed.
- Participants may read or listen to books; library staff are happy to suggest titles.

Reading Logs for Adults
Adults may also participate in Summer Reading by stopping by the library and picking up a reading log (located next to the self check-out machine or by asking at the front desk). Reading logs are available in both English and Spanish (click here for PDF).
Read at least 5 books to receive a special prize and a chance at one of four grand prize baskets or one of four runner-up prizes! Each additional 5 books read earns another drawing entry.
Completed logs must be turned in by Saturday, August 17th.
