Coos Bay Library has teamed up with Coos Head Food Co-op's Outreach Coordinator, Jamar, to  provide safe, easy, and healthy recipes to create at home. Join us virtually on Zoom for this fun community event!

Monthly Event: Every Fourth Thursday!

For this month’s recipe, Jamar will be featuring Potato, Leek, & Mushroom Soup. Scroll down for ingredients.

Potato, Leek, & Mushroom Soup ingredients:

4 to 5 Yellow Potatoes

4 Leeks

2 Cups of Veggies Stock (Pacific Foods Veggie Stock)

4 Chopped Garlic Cloves

5-6 Cremini Mushrooms

1 Tablespoon of Rosemary

1 Tablespoon of Thyme

1 Pint of Heavy Cream

Black Pepper


Olive Oil

1 Tablespoon of Smoked Paprika (Garnish)


You will need:

1 Bowl (for sauteed leeks)

1 Pot with Lid

1 Ladle

1 Frying Pan (used to sweat mushrooms)

1 Big Spoon
