Coos Bay Library has teamed up with Coos Head Food Co-op's Outreach Coordinator, Jamar, to  provide safe, easy, and healthy recipes to create at home. Join us virtually on Zoom for this fun community event!

For this month’s recipe, Jamar will be featuring COOS HEAD KIMCHI PANCAKES & ASIAN SLAW. Scroll down for ingredients.

Kimchi Pancake
1 Cup of All Purpose Flour
1 Cup of Potato Starch
1 Cup of Kimchi (rough chop) Cindy Yi Radish Kimchi at Coos Head Food Co-Op
¼ teaspoon of Salt
½ teaspoon of Smoked Paprika
¼ teaspoon of Black Pepper
1¼ Cup of Vegetable Stock
2 teaspoons of Toasted Sesame Oil
2 teaspoons of Oil (vegetable, canola, olive)
½ cup of mushrooms (I will be using shitake you can substitute as you see fit)
1 Bunch of Green Onions (finely chopped we will be using ½ in the salad and as a garnish)
½ teaspoon of Sesame Seed

Asian Slaw
2 tablespoons Rice Vinegar
1 Cup of shredded Cabbage (you can always request a produce employee to cut your cabbage in half)
2 Tablespoons of Green Onions
1 Bunch of Cilantro
½ Cup of Shredded Carrots
2 teaspoons of fresh Garlic
1 thumb length of Ginger (rough chopped)
1 teaspoon of Sesame Oil

You will need:
2 Frying Pans
1 Spatula
A bowl to prepare the salad in
